Lawmaker: Cyberattacks Against US Getting Worse

The U.S. is vulnerable to cyberattacks that could shut down financial services or destroy information that companies need for daily operations, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said Sunday. Rep. Mike Rogers says 95 percent of private sector networks are vulnerable and most have already been hit.

SunGard Announces Fourth Quarter & Full-Year 2012 Results

Availability Services revenue was $353 million in the fourth quarter, down 4% year over year (down 4% as well adjusting for currency). For the full year, revenue was $1.40 billion, down 4% year over year (down 3% adjusting for currency).

Documents: Worries About Outage Before Super Bowl

Superdome officials warned just months before the Super Bowl that the venue's electrical system could suffer a power outage and rushed to replace some of the equipment ahead of the big game. Tests on the electrical feeders that connect incoming power from utility lines to the stadium showed decay and "a chance of failure," state officials warned in a memo dated Oct. 15.

NFL officials were sure they'd get the Super Bowl finished on Sunday night. Commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday the Superdome had a backup power system which was about to be used during the Super Bowl's electrical outage. It wasn't needed because power started coming back at that time, he said.
