This presentation will show you how a business continuity program can be successfully created and implemented in a short period of time. TAP, a $4B pharmaceutical company, implemented a business continuity program over a five-month period of time, starting with virtually nothing in the way of documentation or processes (or personnel with BCP background/skills), and ending up with a completed business impact analysis (BIA), strategy, planning manual, and program structure. During this five-month period, tabletop testing was also performed, and there were two unplanned opportunities to test the plan due to actual business interruptions. This case study will review the process TAP employed in implementing the program, lessons learned, and a review of the
two real-life interruptions that were experienced.
