Taking your pandemic plans to the next level – a case study by Ontario's Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB). This presentation will describe in detail the next level in pandemic planning -- the human factor. This session will provide details on how the WSIB has developed plans to ensure adequate employee coverage and support during a possible pandemic. Specifically, the presentation will explain: 1) How to create internal critical incident stress management (CISM) teams to ensure your employees receive the support they need, as current Employee Assistance Providers will also be overwhelmed and understaffed and may not be available to assist your organization. 2) How to develop a “roster of coverage” to ensure your senior management/key decision makers can continue to provide leadership support during the pandemic. 3) How to develop a skills inventory and training plan to ensure adequate coverage of critical positions during a pandemic.
