Businesses and government are encountering a growing number of local and national compliance requirements, which have substantially added to the burden building and testing preparedness plans. We can expect to see additional regulations and guidances, from governments as well as industry sectors. The business continuity professional needs to be aware of the impact of these various rules upon their organization. This session will address the key business continuity laws and standards. It will include Title IX of PL 110-53 “Private Sector Preparedness Act,” as well as BS25999 and relevant current and proposed standards. Included will be a discussion of how small and medium sized businesses can prepare to meet the challenge of compliance.
