Personal Preparedness: Get Ready!
Personal Preparedness is an often overlooked but essential element of any business continuity program. If employees are unprepared to deal with the personal implications of disruptions, they will be unable to carry out their responsibilities effectively and business continuity plans will fail. In this webinar Lisa Orloff, founder and executive director of the World Cares Center, will address the steps you can take to encourage your employees to be personally prepared.
In the aftermath of 9/11, Orloff founded World Cares Center and developed its first program, the "September Space” community centers, serving the needs of the volunteers and responders affected by the attacks of 9/11 and later the Gulf Coast hurricanes. From 2001 through 2007, September Space centers served over 45,000 individuals through a staff of fourteen full-time employees, fifty professional volunteers, and hundreds of programs delivered through partnerships and collaboration. World Cares Center's next launched its Disaster Preparation and Trauma Mitigation training, which was inspired by Orloff's experiences in the field. The center has trained thousands of responders in 20 states and three countries and remains committed to supporting national initiatives that enhance community-led response and recovery efforts in areas preparing for or recovering from disasters.

Webinar Archive: Minimize the Impact of Workforce Disruptions with Remote Access
If you missed this webinar, don't worry. It's still available online.
A business continuity plan is about being prepared-like filling the tank before a road trip or carrying an umbrella when it's cloudy. Let's face it: The world can be unpredictable. Being prepared for unexpected workplace disruptions, from flu pandemics and transport strikes to winter storms, ensures that employees stay safe, secure and productive. This interactive webinar, with Stephanie Balaouras of Forrester Research and Eric Bensley of Citrix Online, discussed why companies are turning to remote-access solutions to prepare for events that-without a business continuity plan in place-could prevent employees from getting to work and getting work done. Learn what it takes to build an effective business continuity plan, including:
Tips for keeping employees informed during a disruption
Why secure remote access to business applications and data guarantees a seamless workplace transition
How Web-conferencing tools enable employees to meet safely online when travel is risky or restricted
