STERLING, Va. & TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jul 25, 2012--Fixmo, the mobile risk management (MRM) company, today announced a partnership with Appthority, the Authority in App Security™, to extend its mobile security and risk management platform with security and risk assessment of commercial and in-house developed mobile apps. Through the partnership, Fixmo will enable organizations to identify threats, risks and security vulnerabilities exposed by mobile apps running on devices within its network and use that intelligence to proactively prevent security breaches and maintain regulatory compliance.
The Appthority Platform analyzes mobile apps to identify hidden security and privacy risks, such as the presence of malware, Trojans, keystroke recording, and access to the corporate address book or other private data. Fixmo will integrate these capabilities with its Fixmo MRM enterprise mobility platform, which currently provides device integrity verification and compromise detection, corporate data containment and encryption, device-level and container-level policy management, application management, and compliance monitoring and reporting. By combining these solutions, Fixmo will give organizations an unprecedented view into the security risks and vulnerabilities that are present across their mobility deployment with the unique ability to trigger device-level or container-level security policies and remediation actions in response to the detection of high-risk security threats.
“Fixmo has already established itself as a leader and innovator in the mobile security and risk management space,” said Domingo Guerra, co-founder and president of Appthority. “By integrating Appthority’s Mobile App Risk Management capabilities, the company can now offer real-time insight into the security risks and vulnerabilities exposed by commercial mobile apps and help organizations take action to prevent security and compliance breaches.”
"By partnering with Appthority, we are building on our proven device integrity, tamper detection and policy compliance solutions to give our customers a comprehensive view into the security threats and vulnerabilities that are present across their mobile devices, applications and users,” said Daniel Ford, Chief Security Officer at Fixmo. “We’re giving our customers the intelligence and the tools they need to make informed, risk-based decisions, and to respond to high-risk security threats in a proactive manner before they result in a compliance breach. This level of predictive threat assessment and risk management is a first in the industry, and is critical to helping our customers transition from a reactionary device management approach to a predictive mobile risk management framework."
