American Enterprise Bank Implements Multiple Hosted Solutions From Safe Systems
ALPHARETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 16, 2012--Safe Systems, recent winner of the BankNews Innovative Solutions Award, and national leader in compliance-centric IT support and hosted services exclusively to financial institutions, today announced American Enterprise Bank of Florida, headquartered in Jacksonville, Fl, has selected Safe Systems for multiple hosted services including; SafeSysMail for hosted email exchange, NetComply for IT support and managed services, and Continuum for disaster recovery.
American Enterprise Bank operates a total of two branches with approximately $199 million in assets. The bank made the strategic decision to outsource critical components of its IT infrastructure and began gradually moving systems into a hosted environment. In choosing a technology provider to partner with, the bank decided to look at several IT vendors to determine the best fit for the bank.
“We needed a provider that was independently audited in a SOC II environment that could allow us to outsource this function, while retaining security and flexibility,” said Jodi Bowen, senior vice president and cashier of American Enterprise Bank. “Safe Systems works exclusively with financial institutions and understands the compliance costs of this highly regulated industry. We expect this transition to allow our bank significant cost savings on hardware, maintenance and daily management – an estimated $60,000 to $80,000 savings annually.”
Regulators in today’s banking environment expect a community bank such as American Enterprise to operate under the same standards as a regional, or money center institution. Risk management measures such as vendor management, firewall protection, a tested disaster recovery plan, multi-layer authentication and fully implemented policies and procedures – not just a written program – are required, but often burdensome on smaller institutions.
In correlation with these requirements, American Enterprise has implemented solutions to assist in alleviating that burden: hosted email exchange, SafeSysMail, to take the exchange server out of the branch and into a virtual environment; NetComply to outsource daily management, patching and reporting on IT systems, and; Continuum for fully redundant disaster recovery and data vaulting.
Darren Bridges, president of Safe Systems added, “Safe Systems is able to fulfill the role of Network Administrator for American Enterprise. The bank no longer has a single point of failure, and instead can rely on a team of experts. We are able to support their team, providing information and assistance as needed, on demand. In a traditionally siloed area of the bank, we are able to realize efficiencies for American Enterprise that they would not have been able to do otherwise. We are proud of this partnership, and look forward to continued success.”
