Southern Wine & Spirits Of America Appoints New Director Of Business Continuity
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb 15, 2013--Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (Southern), the country’s leading wine and spirits distributor, today announced that John Liuzzi has accepted the newly-created position of Director of Business Continuity. This new position continues to ensure the Company’s ongoing, successful operations in the event of a natural or human-caused disaster at or near any of Southern’s facilities. Liuzzi will report to Bobby Burg, Senior Vice President and head of Southern’s Supply Chain Management.
Commenting on the appointment, Burg said, “Under John’s direction, we are confident that Southern will continue to have a strong, thorough strategy for business continuity in place which will ensure that Southern has the capability to continue to service both our supplier and customer partners in the event of a disaster.”
According to Burg, “John previously served at the Internal Revenue Service’s Operations Department and was responsible for critical business processes which supported tax administration activities totaling over $2.3 trillion. In addition, John was appointed to three terms of office by a special act of The United States Congress to support the multi-billion dollar business and technology modernization program at the IRS—providing leadership for the key program areas of business continuity, disaster recovery, risk management, cyber security and customer service.”
The appointment is effective immediately.
