Nine Deaths In Mexico H1N1 Outbreak

Mexican officials report the number of detected A(H1N1) cases at 573, with nine deaths from the strain, also known as swine flu.
A story on Yahoo! Health notes a sharp increase in the number of cases, up from 333 on Thursday.
In December, The Los Angeles Times reported that Australia experienced an increase in the spread of a Tamiflu-resistant version of the H1N1 virus among humans during its recent flu season.
No H1N1 cases have been confirmed in the U.S.
Meanwhile, new cases of the H5N1 bird flu have emerged in Asia and the Middle East. H5N1 deaths in Vietnam and Cambodia are linked to contact with poultry.
