PlantCML Brings Emergency Notification Technology to Florida’s The Great Outdoors Premier RV and Golf Resort

(FRANKLIN, Tenn., August 19, 2010) PlantCML, an EADS North America company, today announced the deployment of its emergency notification technology in the nation’s highest-rated RV resort, The Great Outdoors Premier RV and Golf Resort (TGO) in Titusville, Fla. Implemented in late June, The Communicator!® NXT™ solution augments TGO’s internal and external communications efforts, furthering the community’s safety and security measures.

"At TGO, the well-being of every resident and guest is of utmost concern," said Keith Lamb, association manager at The Great Outdoors. "Notification technology helps us communicate faster and far more efficiently about situations affecting our community. From inclement weather to street closures, we want all TGO residents to know we are continually looking out for their best interests and working to maintain their quality of life."

Used by hundreds of public and private organizations worldwide, The Communicator! NXT solution provides automatic, list-driven notifications, rapidly alerting employees, community volunteers, constituents and others of critical events. Upon activation, it distributes voice and text messages by phone (landline and cell), SMS, email and fax through PlantCML’s state-of-the-art hosting facility. The web-based application collects and consolidates feedback, if needed, into comprehensive reports, confirming message delivery and the status of recipients.

For TGO, The Communicator! NXT solution facilitates immediate notification concerning events such as hurricanes, fire threats and water main breaks. It provides residents and employees 24/7 access to an inbound bulletin, through which they can obtain status updates such as when it is safe to return to the property. The application also conveys information to residents regarding homeowner association meetings, scheduled rallies and community events. "We believe this level of communication is an added amenity and will help set the resort apart from other properties in the area," said Lamb.

Since its June 2010 implementation, TGO has activated The Communicator! NXT solution more than 15 times, advising employees and the community of everything from road paving and fire control cutting to the availability of the monthly manager’s report.

Other emergency and non-emergency notification scenarios are under development now. Accordingly, the TGO Community Services Association is encouraging residents to sign up to receive the messages at their earliest opportunity.

"We commend The Great Outdoors RV and Golf Resort on their progressive communications efforts," said Mark Portanova, national sales manager for PlantCML’s Notification Solutions and Services (NSS) business unit. "Their adoption of The Communicator! NXT solution demonstrates a steadfast commitment to employee and community safety. It also serves as a compelling business case for other properties across the country as they consider ways to keep people alert and informed in these unpredictable times."
